Our Disability Ambassador organisations are committed to creating accessible and welcoming opportunities for Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions.
These organisations have completed training with Disability Together and are disability aware, sensory aware and safeguarding aware. They understand that trying something new can feel daunting and are happy to offer a little extra support to help you settle in and feel comfortable.
Whether you’re looking to join a social group, sports club, community activity or local service, we’re here to help you find opportunities that are right for you.

Live group classes where you can enjoy Pilates from the safety of your own home.
Loads of fun, super-friendly fully interactive! Can’t make a class? Videos are posted in a library for one week after class. Classes are fully interactive and full of like-minded (and bodied) people. These classes are easy to attend, will improve how you feel and can fit around those days you might not feel 100%
Well Image CIC offers online photography workshops enhancing wellbeing. We work with employers/managers and individuals. Courses are designed to boost creativity and encourage mindfulness by connecting participants with their environment through photography.

Bampton Ladies
Monthly sessions, listening to a guest speaker and chatting before and after the event.
Social meetings, monthly during winter months and outings in a coach in the spring and summer. Seated social meetings in the Community Hall, Bampton.
We walk together in small groups locally around Bampton every Monday morning. You can choose to go on a short walk or a longer walk. The pace is no more than moderate – we will never walk so fast that we are all totally out of breath and unable to chat! It is a great opportunity to help your physical and mental health, get some fresh air, and explore some of Bampton’s lovely paths and landscape.
Barnstaple Photographic Club always offers a warm and friendly environment for photographers of all skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced photographer or just starting out, our club provides a full programme of lectures, events, competitions, and practical outings to help you improve your photography and offers you support to get the most out of your camera.
The Bovey Tracey Audio Club is part of Disability Together’s Disability Ambassador Service, offering a welcoming and supportive space to explore local history through sound and storytelling. Working with the Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre, the group listens to recordings made in the 1980s of people sharing their life experiences from the 1920s to the 1950s, with some recordings brought to life through videos and photographs reflecting the times and places discussed. A trained Disability Ambassador volunteer is on hand to welcome those referred through the service and provide support in their first couple of sessions. Our Memory Cafe offers local people affected by dementia support in a relaxed and social environment. Staff and volunteers are on hand to offer encouragement and support. We have a range of activities suited to our service users and often welcome singers and musicians to our Cafe. Forthcoming sessions include seated exercise, poetry reading and reminiscence. Light refreshments are served.
Exercise and being active has so many health benefits. Individuals’ really get stuck in and go all out. The joys of chairobics is that it really is accessible for most people and they can choose their own intensity level. These are always fun and well attended.
Coronation Park is home to four outdoor tennis courts in Dartmouth, Devon.
We are a small, friendly running sports club which welcomes runners of all abilities. Whether you are new to running or can already run a marathon. It’s all about participating in something you enjoy with a group of like-minded, friendly people. Our club nights are on Mondays and Wednesdays 18.30-19.30.

Wellbeing sessions across the community in community spaces, schools, colleges, local organisations and workplace settings. Fully adaptable movement and mindfulness practices for all members of the community to enjoy. These sessions are accessible and inclusive, enhancing community connection and belonging and can help you to benefit from improved physical and mental health.
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you!
We all take part for our own enjoyment. In this activity you can come along and join in whatever your pace!

Over 50 groups, meeting in Newton Abbot, Kingsteignton and the surrounding area. Activities include knitting, painting and photography. Six walking groups, a gardening group and a geology group. Another group looks at local history whilst another looks at family history. Mah Jongg, canasta and nomination whist are all played. We have both French and Spanish groups. This is only a selection – there really is something for everybody.
‘The Quiet Mind Lotus Meditation Group’, a serene haven for beginners embarking on their meditation journey. Sessions are thoughtfully designed over 90 minutes, include sitting meditation to cultivate inner stillness, walking meditation to connect movement with mindfulness, and deep relaxation meditation to promote rejuvenation. After each session, you are invited to enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, building a sense of community and connection.

Nifty Needles – Sewing, tapestry, embroidery, knitting, crochet – anything with ‘needles’. New members can pick up the basics from other members. Some dexterity required to be able to use a needle, and sight good enough to follow a pattern, sew on material etc. All seated around tables.

Game laid out – green baize, tiles and racks to hold the tiles for each player. Necessary to have good sight, hand eye co-ordination and dexterity. Need a good level of understanding and ability to remember as the game progresses. Four players for each game. Build sets of tiles to win. Like Happy Families

Players need to be able to bend and pick up a wood, weighing around 1kg. Seats are around the hall and sitting between turns is usual. Wheelchairs cannot be accommodated within the current venue space, and special matting would be needed to protect the bowling surface.

It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes, it’s what you learn in trying! Yoga is a great practice for both your body and mind. My classes are small, inclusive, fun and playful with a focus on relaxation in a peaceful environment.
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! Every Saturday at 9:00 am. We all take part for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in at whatever your pace!
Coronation Park is home to four outdoor tennis courts in Dartmouth, Devon.
Get people fit and active, and meet new friends. A communal gentle stroll along The Embankment, in Dartmouth. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited. Everyone can walk at their own pace, on their own or with others.
If you want to take up a new challenge, don’t hesitate to contact us, and we can arrange free taster sessions. If you get bitten by the bowls bug, coaching is available by qualified coaches or by some of our more experienced bowls players who are willing to help all bowlers improve their techniques. We cater for all abilities and have a wheelchair accessible green and 2 Bowls wheelchairs, The club caters for regular Care Home and Dementia sessions and has adapted sports equipment for the less able and disabled.

Tuesday morning social cafe serving free soup, drinks, etc.
On alternate Tuesdays, the Moorland Care Group provide a sandwich lunch.
In the afternoon, there is the Social Supermarket where fresh food is available.
This started with the Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre, which had lots of recordings, made in the 1980s, of people talking about their lives in the 1920-50s. Some of them as videos using photographs, etc.
There is now a small group of people recording present-day people’s lives.
Sports group at Dartmouth Leisure Centre. Includes Badminton, Table tennis, pickleball. Start the day with a warmup and then have a go at a sport: badminton, table tennis, pickleball. If you’ve never played before, coaching is given – and you never know you might really enjoy the extra fitness it gives you.

Torbay VI Connect is a social group that meets evenings and weekends sporadically throughout the year e.g. cinema, games night crazy golf and any other ideas the group can come up with.
Connect Cafe is held at Jasmin house the first Friday of the month, serving tea/Coffee, soft drink with guest speakers on a wide range of subjects around coaching, wellbeing and positive mental health. As well as a chance to connect to others, Connect to self, Connect to Community.
Drums4health bring people together through the energising power of cardio drumming, which is a low impact, rhythm-based workout that’s as fun as it is effective! Unlike typical cardio drumming setups using buckets or balls, we use purpose built European drums with beautiful tone and structure, which are designed specifically for fitness. Combining music and movement, our sessions help improve cardiovascular health, build endurance, and burn calories – all while learning new musical skills!
It is about more than exercise. Their sessions our fun, social, and inclusive, creating welcoming spaces filled with laughter and friendships. No matter who you are or what you do, their sessions offer a joyful way to improve wellbeing and make new friends. They welcome all fitness levels and abilities, with seated options available for those with limited mobility.
Exeter Otters wheelchair basketball club is one of the oldest wheelchair basketball clubs in the UK being founded in 1980 and was founded on family community and enjoying the spirt together. Now in 2025 we currently have 3 teams including a division 1 team, a development team and juniors.
Every saturday we run open sessions for anyone to come along and join our community. If you aren’t ready to play, we still invite you to come along and have a tea or coffee and watch to talk to others. Everyone is welcome at the Exeter Otters!
