Steps to creating an online fundraising page

Disability Together is linked with GoFundMe and JustGiving – meaning your funds can be automatically transferred when your fundraiser is finished.

It’s also much easier to collect donations and sponsorship through an online page.

MuchLoved is ideal for tribute and in-memory pages. GoFundMe and JustGiving work well for challenges and community events.

If you would like guidance on how to safely and effectively raise money for a charitable cause, consult the article on the official UK Government website.

1. Choose your platform

We are linked with GoFundMe, JustGiving or MuchLoved, but you can use other fundraising platforms, though you would need to transfer the money to us yourself after.

Once you have chosen your platform, create an account and sign in.

Search for Disability Together (you may also see ā€œLiving Options Devonā€ listed historically).

Page title, target amount, event date and location (if relevant).

In 3–5 short paragraphs say why you’re fundraising and what difference donations make. Add one strong photo to help people understand who you are and what you’re doing.

Tick the Gift Aid option so UK taxpayers can boost their donation by 25% at no extra cost.

Copy your link, add it to emails and social posts, and print a QR code for posters or tables.

Post quick updates at 25%, 50% and 75% of your target. Thank donors as you go – this is really important!

Add your final total, pay in any offline gifts through the platform and download your donor list for thank-you messages.
