Disability Together is delivering a fully funded Deaf Awareness course for local wellbeing organisations who want to improve how they communicate and make their services more inclusive.

This practical, exercise based session will be delivered by Deaf trainers who are native BSL users and bring lived experience of Deaf culture. As specialists in disability inclusion and accessibility, we are proud to offer this high quality training to strengthen confidence, knowledge and real world communication skills.
What the session will cover
- Deaf culture, identity and etiquette
- Communication techniques, including BSL basics, visual cues and lip reading support
- Interactive exercises exploring common barriers and how to remove them
- Practical steps to create more inclusive and accessible services
