For Business
Tier 2 training includes an eLearning module and a face-to-face seminar from 9.30am-4.00pm.
We aim to work flexibly with providers to ensure the training fits their schedules.
This training is designed for staff responsible for providing care and support to autistic individuals or those with learning disabilities. It is essential for anyone who may need to offer services or make decisions regarding the care of these individuals.
Tier 2 training is available across the whole of Devon.
Why this training is essential
Developed by Health Education England and Skills for Care, in collaboration with individuals with learning disabilities and autistic people, the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the government’s recommended training for health and social care staff. It equips staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate, and informed care, aiming to prevent experiences like those of Oliver.
Framework and standards
The content aligns with Tier 1 and Tier 2 capabilities within the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting People with a Learning Disability and the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting Autistic People.
Prerequisites to webinar and face-to-face training
All attendees must have completed the e-learning module (approx. 90mins online)
