Our standard access audits take the form of a comprehensive on-site visit followed by a detailed written report. We’ll provide clear recommendations for improvements to ensure your building, site or open spaces are as compliant as is reasonable with the Equality Act 2010.

A more succinct version of the full access audit, this format has proven extremely popular since we introduced it in 2024.
The format provides the added advantage of focussing on dialogue as the review is carried out as a walk around by the auditor with one or two relevant members of staff, together identifying what is working well and priorities for future improvement.
Built environments are measured against Approved Document M and BS 8300. They are informed by the training received by the Centre for Accessible Environments, best practice and our charity’s focus on lived experience.
Yes – we offer package rates for multi-site audits and coordinate visits to reduce your operational impact.
Reports typically take 3 – 4 weeks from site review to report delivery although if there is a particular timescale that you are working to we will seek to accommodate this. Walk and Talk summary reports usually take a shorter time but this varies depending on the number of commissions at the time.
Understanding your context is a priority for us so that our recommendations are practical and relevant. All audits are preceded by conversation and sharing relevant information.
The site visit for a full access audit commences with a short meeting to finalise understanding of this context and agree logistics to minimise disturbance. It concludes with another brief meeting where initial key points are shared verbally.
While it is for the organisation to implement the finding, we offer services such as training and production of alternative format information which can be part of the follow up. We are also able to provide clarifications or offer additional consultancy advice.
