Advocacy Awareness Week 2025

Advocacy Awareness Week logo. Includes dates "13 - 17th October"

This week is Advocacy Awareness Week! From 13 to 17 October 2025, organisations across the country are celebrating the difference advocacy makes. It is a chance to recognise the role of advocates and the positive impact they have on people’s lives.

At Disability Together, we are proud to play a key role in ensuring people in Devon are listened to and their rights are respected. Advocacy gives people the confidence and support to take part in decisions that directly affect them.

We are one of four charities that make up the Devon Advocacy Consortium, alongside Rethink Advocacy, Vocal Advocacy, and Young Devon. Together, we provide independent advocacy across Devon and Torbay. Each partner brings specialist knowledge, so people are matched with the support that best meets their needs.

Our impact

What people say

"The Advocate made my client feel able to express their views as they were an independent person and not part of the assessment or funding stream. It made such a difference - thank you so much."

Why this week matters

Advocacy awareness week reminds us of the importance of listening, understanding, and standing alongside people when it matters most. We are proud of our advocacy team and the difference they make every day, and we are grateful to our partners and referrers who help make this work possible.
